A first draft workbench, four posts, an outside frame and a 3 sided frame near the bottom.The underside of the workbench, lacking any supports for the plywood.

Side view with a transparent top for some reason. You can clearly see some 2x4s attached to the inside of the 4x4sA transparent top the workbench with the edges of the back crossbeams peaking out because trig is hard if you don't remember it. You can kind of see the new 8 foot support beamsFront view, it's.. fine. Same thing, two cross beams going from the lower corners to the top center.

Yellow cross beams on the inside bumping up against the new interior support beams.Ok so maybe I didn't quite figure out the math to keep my parts from overlapping. The yellow cross beams poking through the support beams from below.

The plywood doesn't drop in anymore but it's fine, this is much more solid.I also figured out how to keep the wood from overlapping at the top! (underside view of the work bench showing an upper frame that completely supports the plywood.

A thinner sleeker dual shelved solution! So it's a wooden shelf, with a shelf at 4ft and another at 2ft. Four posts adorn each corner, and the lower shelf has 10in cutouts in it's corners to fit between the posts.The underside shows 2x3x4 blocks up against the posts, and a single stretch of 2x3 between the shorter edge of the posts

Assembly guide with some design pictures and some info about the construction. -4x4 legs -The long sides of the frame go the entire width of the shelf -The top shelf has 4” supports on the long side and 14” supports on the short sides between the posts - The bottom shelf has 5”x5” cutouts on each cornerA table of cut for each piece of lumber. Props to opticutter.com for a great tool.It's me! Making use of my minivan! Also visible are the other use of the minivan. Mainly lugging my kids around.

All of the cuts needed out of the 2x3sMy favorite off cut, it's a tree! I love how the rings separated.Some time with a shop vac and some trash bags later we have a much nicer looking situation. I want to put the shelf on the left there. A not so messy garage. Well it's still messy but it's better! Look a very bent 2x3 on the floor!

look it's 4x4s under plywood! Setup so I wont accidentally cut them.There's a very feint pencil line down the middle of this sheet of plywood, I'm going to try to cut it.it worked! it's mostly straight! +- .25 inches A cut in half bit of plywood

A finished shelving unit in a not so dirty garage!A glamor shot from belowA nice shot of the top corner, you can see the screws and the 10"x10" squares I had to cut out of the lower shelf but never mentioned.The underside of the top, notice the support pieces up against the 4x4s that keep it steadier probably.
