In this post we're going to discuss the best house in Pokopia for housing your Pokemon early to late game.
What are Houses?
Pokemon houses give them a place to live. This is important to improve their comfort level which helps improve the area's environment level, unlocking new challenges and items in the shop. It also gives them a place to live that's not their spawning habitat which frees that up for new Pokemon to spawn which is important so you can have an organized town and keep spawing rates high so you can see all ~300 Pokemon in the game.
The Best Pokopia House
The best Pokopia house is a modular, nested house. This means you won't be using a housing kit but rather building the house yourself.
Why not a housing kit?
They take up a lot of room for the amount of mons they house - small is 1, medium 2, large 4
They take a lot of time to build - from 15 minutes to a whole day
They require other Pokemon to build them - meaning they can't do any other jobs
Modular houses on the other hand can be built with almost anything, they just need:
Enclosed walls 1 block high and on all sides (squares / rectangles work better than diagonals / missing pieces)
A door to get in and out
3 different pieces of furniture - a toy, relaxation, and decoration works well
There are several ways you can build these houses but the way I like to do it is:
Blocks in an 8x8 square (6x6 is now interior)
Put a door / gate in the wall so mons can get in and out
Place 3 pieces of furniture - a toy, relaxation, and decoration
Place a few habitats inside - like a tall grass in each corner
This is now seen as a full habitat with a house overlapping with 4 different tall grass habitats meaning you can house 8 mons in this one 8x8 square. You could even make this tighter by squeezing in additional habitats that don't overlap.
This type of house is very efficient for a few reasons:
Time - Takes only as much time as you take to build it (usually a few minutes)
Resources - Can use any kind of block for the walls so no need to gather rare resources
Space - Is one of the most efficient mons per square block
Comfort - Mons typically like these much better than their normal habitat just because you have furniture around it
Flexibility - You can modify these to work for nature lovers by providing lots of nature or fire lovers by adding lots of campfires or water lovers by piping water into the enclosure, all with the same basic layout
The downside of this house
Now this doesn't come without its downsides. The main ones are:
Not aesthetic - It's just a fenced in area really. But you could make this nice looking by building additional stuff later or by leaning into a theme like a pasture or smth.
Pokemon spawning limits - There's a limit of 20 mons spawned in per area so if you have 3 of these modular houses fully stocked then you're already 4 over the limit and some will be despawned. This isn't the worst thing in the world as you can always for a spawn by going to their house and using honey but it is smth to keep in mind and means in later game with lots of mons you may want to sprinkle prefabs in for mons you don't want walking around as much or who are more effective staying in one place.

So that's how I'm building effective houses in Pokopia. Now that I've built the game I'll probably branch out to build more unique houses for my favorite mons and in certain areas but these will remain the backbone of my infrastructure due to how efficient they are.
